The Middle Persian version of the Old Persian Artaxšaça (see Artaxerxes) [1]. It was borne by a 3rd-century Persian monarch who triumphed over the Parthians and established the Sasanian Empire. Additionally, this ruler reinstated Zoroastrianism as the official religion of the state.
